Today officially marks my four month blog anniversary! I know this will sound cheesy, but it is hard to believe that these past four months have flown by so much! In the real world, being 4 months old makes you a baby, which is what this blog still is, growing and learning. It has been an awesome experience to be able to put my recipes/thoughts out on a blog to share with the rest of the world. I have connected with so many talented food bloggers and have read countless posts on creating a better blog. I would love to hear feedback from you, my readers. Below are a few interesting blog stats:
I was shocked to see the total number of page views on my blog, 27,641, that’s about enough to fill a small college football stadium. I certainly would be very nervous meeting that many people in person, especially since 63 different countries are represented such as Peru and Iceland, with the United States and Canada being the most popular countries, if only I could visit them all! It makes me wonder what an influence I can be in the future.
Currently, I have 24 recipes posted on my blog, which equates to about 1.4 posts per week. My very first blog post was is this one. I wish I had more time on my hands, but juggling a full-time job and a family life I am limited in what I can do. I don’t mind my current posting schedule; I would rather post good quality recipes with clear instructions and photographs rather than spit out as many posts as possible. I would love your feedback on what types of recipes you would love to see more of on my blog. Although, I have only a few faith inspired posts, I am working on being able to post at least every 2 weeks on Christian topics, feel free to contact me with any suggestions for new topics.
Cups O’ Coffee + Health
Just to be clear, I didn’t drink all of that coffee in one day, it’s been 123 days since my blog launched so I estimated about 1 cup of coffee per day to get to that above number. And, since most people think that eating food will lead to weight gain, I actually lost weight (2 pounds) eating all of that delicious food I’ve been cooking. Which proves that eating in moderation will not cause any weight gain, plus being able to share food helps! I try not to eat too many desserts during the week, I leave it to the weekends to enjoy my slice of cake, although I do have a cookie here and there during the week along with an intense workout.
My most popular recipe, with 3,628 views and almost 6,000 pins on Pinterest is the Fresh Raspberry Buttercream, the second most viewed recipe are my Simple Fluffy Sour Cream Pancakes with 2,065 views. It is pretty cool to see those numbers grow, although I tend to get excited about numbers on the accounting side of my brain.
My social media numbers are still small, the most followers I have are on my Instagram page, with 352 followers so far to date. With social media being such a large part of today’s culture, I am working on growing my followers/likes. It helps to have my name out there for others to visit my blog and get updates on new posts. It’s also a great way to connect with others to see what is being shared around the world. I appreciate all of your support in helping my blog grow, it’s your likes, shares, follows, and pins (think about how strange those words would have sounded 10 years ago!) that help get the word out about my blog. You can find me on social media: Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. Although I prefer to hangout on Instagram
It’s been a fun learning process these past four months, I am excited to see what the future holds. As always feel free to share the recipes on my blog with your friends, I love to see your creations! Don’t forget to tag me in an recipes you make, be sure to use hashtag #HerCupofJoy.
