Each morning, millions of people start their day with their “cup of joe”, a.k.a. caffeine. For most people, a daily cup of coffee is just part of the normal grind, in fact, I agree that coffee makes my day less dreary. I used to be indifferent towards coffee until I became a full-time working mom.
Just like we crave our morning cup of joe, we should also crave time with the Lord. Just like we need coffee as an energy boost to our day, we need Jesus for a spiritual boost.
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
We remember to stop pray every morning but is that enough, or is it spoken with true intentions? Do we stop and think about what we say in our prayers each morning? Often, I realize that I am in a rush to get out of the house for work that I do not put any effort to speak with God.
Prayer is the way to speak with God.
Just like that shot of espresso can affect your entire morning, so can starting off your day with a relationship with God. He wants to hear from you!
Thanks for sharing! Great verse 🙂
Thanks Lena!
It’s so true. More often than not, we tend to rush through prayer and seem to want to speed it up as if it was wasting our time. Prayer should be our priority and not something that we push till the last minute; for example, saying “oh we’ll pray in the car.” I am guilty of this, especially before work:( Thank you for the post:)
Yes, even I have to remind myself on a regular basis to slow down!
Just found your blog! We are totally kindred spirits! Keep up the awesome work. 🙂
Thanks Lauren! I just checked out your blog, it’s crazy how similar our interests are! I’ll definitely subscribe 🙂
