How to Make the Best Cold Brew Iced Coffee
Recipe type: Drink
Prep time:
Total time:
Serves: 3 cups
  • 1 cup roasted whole coffee beans (I prefer darker roasts)
  • 3 cups cold filtered water
  1. Grind the coffee beans in a coffee grinder. You will need a coarse grind, this will produce a less bitter coffee.
  2. Place the coarse ground coffee grinds in the French press, add in 1.5 cups of water and stir to combine. Add in the rest of the water and place the French press lid on top, do not press down on the cover. Store the French press at room temperature, let the coffee steep for 12 hours.
  3. After the coffee has steeped, slowly press down on the French press plunger. Pour all of the coffee into your coffee mug/cup. Dilute the coffee with water to your desired strength. I prefer to keep the coffee concentrated and pour over ice. Any extra coffee must be removed from the French press to prevent further steeping. Keep leftover coffee in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
I add whole milk and vanilla syrup to my coffee. You can add any creamer you desire, a spoonful of condensed milk would pair perfectly with this coffee.
